Wayag (north): the postcard
Wayag is the karst skyline you already know from photos — towers, lagoons, and a climb that rewards sweat with a Pacific horizon. Northern itineraries usually weave Dampier Strait snorkeling (Kri, Arborek, Manta Sandy), Fam / Piaynemo, and then the long steam north. It feels iconic. Peak season demand is highest here.
Misool (south): the quiet masterpiece
Misool is farther, quieter, and often richer in lagoon light and limestone intimacy — Tomolol Cave, mangrove channels, petroglyphs, and reefs that see fewer day boats. Trips are typically longer (around 10 days). Return guests and photographers love it. Seas matter more: we prefer calmer Oct–Apr windows for comfortable crossings.
